The Black Hawk Gun Safe delivers superior strength through exceptional design and quality construction. Built with 10-gauge steel and an additional ¼-inch steel plate on the door's interior, this safe features 30% thicker steel than most competing brands. Combined with the door's 5-inch overall thickness, this creates a formidable barrier that resists both crowbar and pry bar attacks.
Each safe is reinforced with up to 16 solid steel bolts measuring 1.5 inches thick—exceeding industry standards for high-security gun safes in both thickness and length. These bolts are strategically positioned on all four sides, ensuring maximum defensive protection against firearm theft.
The high-security vault-style hinges are engineered to outlast standard gun safe hinges by decades. This vault-style design provides complete fire coverage for interior hinges, unlike competitors using interior hinges without proper insulation.
Our Black Hawk Gun Safe features an enhanced 90-minute fire rating at 1,400 degrees. We utilize multiple layers of fireboard with each layer sealed, caulked, and filled with fire-resistant caulking. The intumescent door seal expands to 8 times its original size when exposed to heat.
We exclusively use the Sargent and Greenleaf Military Grade EMP Rated Spartan lock—a UL Listed Type 1 Electronic Lock designed to withstand 1,000 newtons of bolt end pressure, resisting side punch attacks. The red LED illuminates the keypad for easy access in dark environments.
Every Black Hawk Gun Safe includes standard drill and ballistic resistant hard plate protection for the lock during drill attacks. The only viable way through is by melting it. Should a thief breach this protection, our dual relocking system continues functioning even without a lock.
Luxury features include a 5-spoke black chrome handle and trim. The plush cushioned interior wraps all sides and includes our special durable "pillow trim" design that protects your firearms and prevents scratches.
Beyond our luxury interior, each Black Hawk Gun Safe includes our motion-activated "Vista Light" LED lighting system, operable by battery or through the UL-listed electrical outlet featuring multiple outlets and two USB ports. Each door includes our heavy-duty canvas door organizer designed to maximize space utilization.

Sargent and Greenleaf's high-security electronic locks are proven to withstand military-level EMP attacks, ensuring full access to your valuables even after an EMP emergency. S&G tested its most popular gun safe locks using the U.S. military's highest EMP impact standard. An independent laboratory applied radiant transient electromagnetic fields on various S&G keypads following Military Standard MIL-STD461F, Method RS105 at 50 kV/m peak exposure. Following the complete testing series, the S&G locks remained fully functional.

This is a common concern. Here are some alternatives:
- Delivery to a local freight terminal typically located within 30-60 minutes of your address. Contact us, and we will help locate the nearest terminal.
- Ship to a friend's or workplace location equipped with a forklift.
- Warehouse pickup is available depending on how far you're willing to travel.
- Renting a forklift, though less ideal, may be necessary. We schedule deliveries precisely to reduce rental time.
Can I hand unload my order if I don't have a forklift?
Unfortunately, hand unloading is not permitted. Truck drivers do not allow this due to liability issues and limited unloading time, even if ample assistance is available.
How do I know if my order requires a forklift or if a lift gate service is available?
Forklifts or similar equipment are mandatory for unloading car lifts.
